On-Stage and in Conversation

From Fear to Purpose, What Lockdown Taught Me About Contribution

Fear. Anxiety. Hopelessness.

That’s how lockdown began for most of the world, and for me too.

But somewhere in that emotional fog, a question surfaced that changed everything:

“What can I do to uplift the human spirit?”

The Turning Point

When we feel powerless, we often focus on what we can’t do.

I wasn’t a doctor.
I couldn’t fight the virus on the frontlines.

But I realised something powerful:

  • I had a voice.
  • I had a message.
  • I had a responsibility.

Purpose Is Not Found, It’s Chosen

In moments of crisis, purpose doesn’t magically appear.

It is created through contribution.

That’s when I made a decision:
To use my own resources to create a message that could reach beyond my immediate environment.

A message that eventually reached over 60,000 people globally.

The Shift You Need to Make

Instead of asking:
“Why is this happening to me?”

Ask:
“How can I contribute in this moment?”

Because contribution creates:

  • Meaning
  • Meaning
  • Impact

The speech you see today wasn’t written from a place of certainty.

It was written from a place of service.

A desire to help people reframe their reality.

And that’s the real power of communication.

Your Next Move

You don’t need a global stage.

You just need:

  • One message
  • One intention
  • One action

Because even a single act of contribution can create a ripple.
