Regaining control of your life can seem overwhelming and impossible to achieve when you’re stuck in the chaos of every day. Every day can be a challenge, or it can be an opportunity to learn and grow–but that’s up to you! With fun, creative, and engaging exercises to help rewire your brain, Dineshrie Pillay has cultivated an honestly wonderful book to help control the chaos.
A lot of this book really resonated with me, but I think the icing on the cake is how kind the author is with her words and encouragement. By being vulnerable and sharing moments she’s had in her life that she was able to turn around and come out better, it made me feel like I was gaining a new friend, someone willing to lift me up when I feel like the world is weighing me down.
I’ve been having a lot of difficulty just doing some things because I’m terrified of what people will think, things I’ve wanted to do my whole life. That being said, this book has given me the confidence and motivation to make a change in my worries and ways of thinking. After all, it doesn’t matter what other people say, because…
“There will be many people who enter and exit your life at some point or another. The one person who will remain consistent in your life is you.”
This is my journey, and letting someone else be the author of my life is a recipe for disaster.
Something really cool is a lot of these lessons remind me of things I’ve been learning in church and Bible studies. In order to grow, you must renew your mind and trust you can handle whatever God, or circumstance, puts in your path. If you believe you can overcome whatever it is, then you will overcome it. If you don’t, and you let anxiety and fear overrun you, you won’t. The mind is a powerful tool, and imagination is a terrible master.
I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to grow and have a say-so in their own life again. I very much enjoyed and learned from this, and I can’t see what lives are changed because of it.
