A Personal Lesson in Gratitude

One of the most emotional parts of this talk is a story about my father. On Father’s Day, I gave him a gratitude letter—thanking him for shaping who I had become.

Three weeks later, he passed away. That moment changed how I view relationships forever.

The Lesson Most People Learn Too Late

Time is not guaranteed. Appreciation should not be delayed.

We often wait for the “right moment” to express gratitude.

But the truth is…

The right moment is now.

Working from home has given us incredible flexibility, but it has also quietly taken away something our brains need to thrive — social connection.

One of the biggest steps in helping people speak confidently in public is actually helping them reconnect with others.

When people connect, they build trust. And when there’s trust, conversations become easier.

Public speaking is simply a natural extension of this — moving from a one-to-one conversation to a one-to-many conversation.

So before anyone steps onto a stage, I help them rediscover how to talk to one another again.

Because confidence begins with conversation.

This insight becomes real for delegates during the programme. One participant shared:

“I enjoyed the first day when we did the psychological aspect. That was the turning point for me. I had to embrace my fear, letting go and accepting it as a privilege.”
